GETTING AROUND

Myki Explorer Pack

The Myki Explorer Pack has been developed for visitors and is available at Public Transport Victoria (PTV) hubs, the Melbourne Visitor Information Centre and many hotels, motels and backpacker accommodation providers. The Myki Explorer Pack costs AU$15 and is pre-loaded with Myki money for one day’s travel in Zones 1 and 2. Tram travel in Melbourne’s central business district and Docklands is free.

Perfect walking city

Melbourne is set in a compact grid layout, making it very easy to navigate by foot. Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is located within easy walking distance of many hotels, restaurants, cafés, shopping and attractions.

RACV Melbourne Bike Share Scheme

Melbourne’s Bike Share Scheme allows users to hire one of 600 bikes at the 50 docking stations around the city centre. melbournebikeshare.com.au

Free City Circle Tram

Operating every 12 minutes, the City Circle Tram travels the perimeter of Melbourne’s city centre, taking in many of Melbourne’s landmarks. Delegates can catch the tram at any of the specially marked stops on Flinders Street, Harbour Esplanade, Docklands Drive, La Trobe Street or Spring Street. The City Circle route uses iconic W-Class trams, offering passengers an historical experience and commentary along the way.

Melbourne’s major taxi companies include:

Taxis are available from the ground floor level of Melbourne Airport, outside the International Terminal and both Domestic Terminals. Expect a taxi fare of around AUD $70 for a trip between the CBD and Melbourne Airport.

Car hire

Melbourne Airport has five car rental companies located on-site. All have offices on the ground floor of the Short Term Car Park, and information desks in the Melbourne Airport Domestic Terminals.

River cruises

With the Yarra River running through it, Melbourne is a great city to make your way around by boat. Jump on a Melbourne Water Taxi or take a scenic cruise departing from Southbank. melbournewatertaxis.com.au
